- Hello,
-
-
- Been a long time hasn't it? Well alot of stuff has gone on over
- the last several months. Some of it was actually good :)
-
- There were several things I wanted to have working before the next
- release. Well guess what those things are still not working properly. But
- there have been alot of other bug changes, fixes and updates. CSLIP has been
- in and out a couple of times. We still haven't been able to get a FAST cslip
- that runs on all sites. This is quite irritating, but is being worked on.
- There was also a desire for an external dialer, well we have one on the way,
- however it doesn't quite behave the way you would wish. So there are lots
- of reasons to be depressed, but as I said before there are numerous reasons
- to be happy. STiK has moved over to Joe Conner for support in the UK and some
- exciting new things are planned for it.
-
- From now on we are going to go with less lofty goals for getting new versions
- out and go with a more set schedule of 1 a month - 6 weeks. There are some
- major plans in store for completely overhauling the whole interface and this might
- be the next step. Well you don't care about all this you just want to know
- what's changed.
-
-
- Config Variables
-
- Several have been removed.
-
- PKT_SIZE (gone long ago actually, most people missed it though)
- MSS (Now internally configured)
- DFB_SIZE (now internally configured)
-
- Added
- PROTOCOL variable added to default.cfg
- 0 = SLIP
- 1 = CSLIP
- /* Note CSLIP is non functioning in this version */
-
- REPORT
-
- 0 = Problem reports are supressed
- 1 = Problem reports printed to the screen
-
- This leaves the parameters of
-
- TTL 64 should be good
- PING_TTL 255 should be good
- MTU variable by ISP
- RCV_WND 2-3 * MTU
-
-
- There are several new commands available to the programmer as well. I've
- gotten the CAB.OVL to be mostly non-blocking, which you will want when using the
- new GEM Version of AtarIRC as an .ACC or in a MTASKING environment.
-
- Magic in Preemptive mode is working well for most people on the beta list. (
- I would say all, but then someone who hasn't gotten back to me would crawl out of
- the woodwork ;)
-
- Well unfortunately being a hobbyist and having a real job. I have to go now.
- Please try out this new incarnation of STiK, and I promise that it won't be so long
- til the next release.
-
- Dan.
